Fintech WiserGates Eyes Remittance-Driven Investment in Bangladesh

WiserGates, a wealth fintech company founded by Bangladeshis Muhammad Refayet Chowdhury and Md Nazibur Rahman and registered under the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), has launched its pre-seed round at a USD 30 million valuation. The round is backed by Tokyo-based NewVision Japan Co. Ltd. and London-based 1CS Holdings Limited.

The company’s platform, NANO Assets, offers fractional, tokenized shares in small profitable businesses including laundries, restaurants, groceries, gyms, farming and commodities trading. WiserGates plans to expand operations to the UAE and UK within 12–18 months. It has already invested more than USD 2 million across 10 companies and asset classes in the past five years.

The founders intend to introduce the model in Bangladesh within two to three years, subject to tokenization and crowdfunding regulations. Targeting Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) as initial users, they describe the initiative as “Nano FDI,” estimating that channeling 10 percent of Bangladesh’s USD 32–34 billion annual remittance inflow into local ownership could generate USD 2 billion in new investment annually.

“Financial literacy isn’t a luxury — it’s a human right,” said Refayet, WiserGates’ CEO. COO Nazibur Rahman added, “For Bangladesh specifically, our goal is to let the world invest in Bangladeshi entrepreneurs, and let Bangladeshis — wherever they live — own a real piece of their home country’s growth.”

WiserGates is part of a wave of Bangladeshi-founded startups expanding abroad, supported by government initiatives allowing entrepreneurs to establish companies overseas, and backed by DIFC and Dubai Chambers.
