The Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation ( Bangladesh Tourism Corporation) has announced that the Kuakata Tourism Carnival 2026 will be held on October 23–24 at the scenic coastal destination of Kuakata, famously known as the “Daughter of the Sea.” The initiative aims to promote Kuakata as a unique tourism hub both nationally and internationally, highlight its diverse tourism potential, and engage local communities to foster socio-economic development.

The carnival is being organized jointly by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, Action Cut Entertainment, Dhaka Talkies, and Sunflower 360.

At a press briefing today, Chairman of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation ( Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation ) and Additional Secretary Md. Shamimuzzaman presided over the event, while Director (Commercial) Md. Goniul Azam delivered the welcome speech. The Chairman presented details of the two-day program, emphasizing Kuakata’s distinctive appeal — the rare opportunity to witness both sunrise and sunset from the same beach, natural coastal beauty, local culture, the heritage of the Rakhine community, and traditional lifestyle.

He noted that the carnival is not merely an entertainment event but a significant step toward establishing Kuakata as a sustainable, community-centered tourism destination. The program will showcase local culture, cuisine, handicrafts, sports, and lifestyle alongside Kuakata’s natural beauty.

Program Highlights

• October 23: Opening with a beach football match by local school students, followed by the official inauguration with dignitaries and guest artists. Events include a seafood and indigenous food festival, beach football final, long-boat rides, kite festival, children’s art competition, sunset viewing, traditional storytelling, Rakhine cultural performances, fashion shows, and musical concerts.
• October 24: Beach marathon, sunrise viewing at Gangamati, poetry sessions, boat trips to Char Bajir, celebrity beach cricket, Baul music, comedy shows, cultural performances by schoolchildren, fashion shows, and musical concerts. The carnival will conclude with an award and recognition ceremony.

Government ministers, members of parliament from the Barishal region, and distinguished personalities are expected to attend. The Chairman urged media outlets to widely promote the carnival, noting that showcasing Kuakata’s tourism potential, culture, cuisine, and natural beauty will encourage domestic travel and enhance international recognition through digital platforms.

Bangladesh Tourism Corporation expressed hope that the Kuakata Tourism Carnival 2026 will strengthen Kuakata’s tourism branding, increase local participation and economic activity, and contribute positively to the growth of the national tourism industry.
